Method 1: Via the Department of Basic Education (DBE) Website
- Open Your Browser: Go to the official Department of Basic Education portal at education.gov.za.
- Navigate to Results: Click on the Matric Results / Examination Results tab on the homepage.
- Enter Your Details:
- Enter your 13-digit National Senior Certificate Examination Number.
- Input any required personal verification details (such as your South African ID number).
- Submit & View: Click Search or Submit to view your subject marks, status, and overall pass level (e.g., Bachelor’s, Diploma, Higher Certificate).
Tip: On the release day, high server traffic can cause delays. If the site is loading slowly, refresh the page or try an alternative method below.
Method 2: Via Mobile Apps (DBE or MatricsMate)
- Download either the DBE Results App or the MatricsMate App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Register by typing in your Exam Number and 13-digit SA ID Number.
- View your full subject statement directly in the app once released.
Alternative Mobile Methods (When Offline or Low Data)
If you have limited data or slow internet, you can use SMS or USSD:
- USSD Code: Dial
